Good for asthma. My daughter suffered from chronic asthma and had been admitted to NICU several times. After hearing about orthomolecular practices, I decided to try this protocol. Remarkably, it had a great effect. Within three weeks, her respiratory issues significantly improved. It's no wonder this product is often out of stock given its effectiveness.

Good quality acetylcysteine. This supplement has a pronounced mucolytic and expectorant effect. Doctors prescribe it for bronchitis, asthma, and other respiratory ailments. It enhances glutathione synthesis and detoxification processes, protecting cells and cleansing the liver from free radicals. It is advisable to take it with vitamin C to boost absorption and prevent kidney stones. Although it should not be taken alone for extended periods, it significantly helps with my chronic cough and expedites healing.

It's an excellent alternative to chemist's acetylcysteine for chronic bronchitis. While taking several jars, everything was fine, but after they ran out, my symptoms aggravated within a week. The capsules caused slight stomach discomfort, so it’s best to drink plenty of water with them. The price is reasonable, the product works well, and I recommend it!

An analogue of our ACC. A good drug. In our family, it helps my mother with a severe chronic cough. It successfully clears phlegm.
A chronic cough is defined as a persistent cough that lasts for more than eight weeks in adults and four weeks in children. Unlike an acute cough, which typically resolves within a few weeks and is often linked to temporary conditions like colds or the flu, a chronic cough can indicate an underlying health issue that may require medical attention. Common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergies, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic bronchitis, or even environmental irritants such as smoke or pollution.
When dealing with a chronic cough, it's essential to evaluate the problem holistically. Observing patterns, accompanying symptoms, and any potential triggers can be instrumental in diagnosis. If you're experiencing a lingering cough, consulting a healthcare provider can help determine the root cause and the most effective treatment options, which may range from lifestyle adjustments and over-the-counter remedies to prescription medications or further diagnostic tests.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a modified form of the amino acid cysteine, known for its role as a powerful antioxidant and mucolytic agent. It has been widely used as a dietary supplement for various health benefits, including supporting respiratory health, detoxification, and enhancing overall immune function. NAC is particularly recognized for its ability to replenish glutathione, one of the body's most important antioxidants, which helps combat oxidative stress and protect cells from damage.
In addition to its antioxidant properties, N-Acetyl Cysteine is commonly leveraged in a clinical setting for its effectiveness in treating acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdoses, as it aids in restoring depleted glutathione levels, thus preventing liver damage. It can also be beneficial for individuals with chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD or cystic fibrosis, as it helps in thinning mucus, making it easier to expel. While NAC is generally considered safe for most people, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, particularly for those with pre-existing conditions or those already on medication.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a supplement that is primarily known for its mucolytic properties, which means it can help break down mucus in the airways. For those suffering from chronic coughs associated with conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma, NAC has been suggested as a potential aid in reducing mucus viscosity, thereby making it easier to clear from the respiratory tract. Additionally, NAC is known to have antioxidant effects, which can contribute to overall lung health. However, the efficacy of NAC specifically for chronic cough varies among individuals and is not universally acknowledged as a primary treatment.
While there are studies indicating that NAC can help with mucus clearance, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, especially if used for chronic conditions. Other underlying factors contributing to a persistent cough, such as allergies, infections, or medical conditions, should be properly diagnosed and treated accordingly. Therefore, while NAC may offer some benefits for those with a chronic cough, it should be considered part of a broader treatment plan rather than a standalone solution.
Based on user reviews, many individuals report experiencing relief from chronic cough within a few days of starting the supplement. For instance, one user noted that their cough subsided at the first sign of a cold, emphasizing the necessity of addressing issues early on with this supplement (Read Review). Others have mentioned significant improvements in their cough and lung clearance actions after just two to three days of usage, indicating a relatively quick onset of effects (Read Review; Read Review).
Several users highlighted that the duration and severity of coughing could be mitigated more effectively when the supplement was taken early in the onset of symptoms (Read Review). Overall, while some experienced results almost immediately, others mentioned a course of about two to three weeks for full benefits, particularly in the case of chronic conditions like bronchitis (Read Review; Read Review). As such, individual experiences can vary, but a few days to a few weeks seems to be a typical timeframe for users seeking relief from chronic cough.
Based on user reviews, many individuals have reported substantial improvements in their coughing and respiratory issues after using NAC. Users consistently highlight a rapid relief, often noting that their cough significantly lessens or resolves within days of starting the supplement. For example, one user mentioned that their husband’s chronic cough subsided at the first sign of illness, avoiding a potential escalation of symptoms (Read Review). Another shared that they experienced considerable phlegm clearance after just two days of taking the supplement, along with a noticeable reduction in coughing incidents (Read Review).
Users have also reported long-term benefits for chronic conditions like bronchitis and asthma. One reviewer expressed that their daughter's respiratory issues improved significantly over three weeks of using NAC, while another noted that their chronic cough stemming from bronchitis had lessened considerably after consistent use (Read Review; Read Review). Several reviews mention enhanced immunity and even improvements in conditions exacerbated by pollution or smoking, suggesting that NAC not only aids in immediate relief but may also promote better respiratory health over time. As always, individual results can vary based on personal health conditions and responses to the supplement.
Based on user reviews, many individuals have discovered that combining NAC with other supplements can enhance its effectiveness, particularly for addressing chronic cough and respiratory issues. A notable combination mentioned is NAC with selenium and molybdenum, which users report not only helps alleviate coughing but also provides antioxidant support. One review highlighted that this combination helped reduce morning blood sugar levels and cleared lungs of a persistent post-flu cough, indicating multiple health benefits (Read Review). Additionally, while users generally have a strong preference for NAC as a standalone supplement, some have successfully utilized it in conjunction with other nutrients to maximize their respiratory health improvements (Read Review).
Moreover, users have identified taking NAC during detox periods or at the onset of cold symptoms as particularly beneficial, often reporting that incorporating additional supplements enhances their recovery experience. A user mentioned that they prefer pure NAC but find the combination with selenium effective for their needs (Read Review). These insights suggest that while NAC alone is powerful, its synergistic effects with other supplements can yield improved respiratory health outcomes for those suffering from chronic coughs.
Users report varying dosages for N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) when addressing chronic coughs, indicating that finding the right amount may depend on individual needs and conditions. Some users suggest taking one capsule twice daily, with one reviewer mentioning that this regimen effectively alleviated their cough following the onset of a cold Read Review. Others have noted that they achieved significant cough relief after just one or two doses, often starting at the first sign of symptoms Read Review.
Additionally, some users highlight their experiences after longer-term use. One reviewer noted a substantial improvement after a few days, emphasizing the benefits of intermittent use during cold and cough episodes Read Review. It's also worth mentioning that while NAC is generally well-received for its cough-suppressing properties, some users were careful to monitor dosages due to potential risks associated with its selenium content, which can become toxic at high levels Read Review. Overall, it appears that users find success through consistent use, with many recommending keeping NAC on hand for respiratory support.
